Drake Doremus is finding new ways to explore love and complicated relationships. It began with Like Crazy and Breathe In, then took a sci-fi turn with the upcoming drama, Equals, with Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart. Now he's taking his core theme in another direction with the espionage thriller, The Tracking of a Russian Spy.
Doremus is on board to direct the adaptation of Mitch Swenson's book, penned by Charles Cumming. The story centers on Swenson's illicit romance with a Russian woman named Katya, only to learn that she was actually spying for the Kremlin. Swenson would then travel to Moscow in an attempt to find out who the woman he loved really was.
Filming is set to begin this fall.
