When it comes to the films of director Yorgos Lanthimos, a simple logline rarely does justice to what he truly has in store. For instance, his most recent film The Lobster is a sci-fi love story about a world where being single is forbidden. But those who have experienced the funky oddity that is the film's true nature know there's a lot more going on. That's also one reason why his projects are always worth looking forward to, and now he's settled on one that sounds like a revenge movie but is sure to be much more.
Lanthimos will direct and co-write The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which follows" a young man that needs to take revenge, a doctor that has to make a decision, and his family that must survive." It's being described as a psychological thriller with supernatural aspects, and under Lanthimos' guidance that could be pretty insane.
Next up for Lanthimos is period piece The Favorite with Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz.
