The cast of Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant is steadily getting better. Already set to join the returning Michael Fassbender are Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride, and now you can add Oscar nominee Demian Bichir.
Bichir, who last appeared in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, has a mystery role in Scott's Prometheus sequel, part of a brand new trilogy that will connect directly to 1979's Alien. Fassbender will reprise his role as the duplicitous android, David, who is the sole inhabitant of a remote planet visited by the crew of the colony ship, Covenant. Noomi Rapace, who starred in Prometheus and seemed like a shoe-in for sequels, won't be returning.
Alien: Covenant begins shooting soon for release on October 6th 2017. [THR]
