Get ready to giggle more than you'd like to care to admit, because I sure as Hell did. So the last thing we saw at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (in the best final shot of the franchise, IMHO) was Rey (Daisy Ridley) coming face-to-face with Luke Skywalker after a long search. Well, it looks like Star Wars: Episode VIII will be picking up right where that left off.
Mark Hamill's Skywalker appears in the totally unexpected teaser to announce the beginning of shooting on Rian Johnson's sequel. Not only that, but Disney has confirmed the additions of Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran to the cast. Of course, there are no details on who they'll be playing, although Del Toro is expected to be a villain of some kind. With two years until the film opens there will be plenty of time for speculation.
Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15th 2017.
