Amy Schumer Joins Miles Teller In PTSD Drama 'Thank You For Your Service'

Last year Sarah Silverman bucked her comic roots and went for a straight-up sobering drama in I Smile Back. The move earned her a ton of acclaim and perhaps set up a completely different career path. Now it looks like Amy Schumer, hot off the success of Trainwreck, is about to do the same in a film that may be a future Oscar contender.

Schumer has joined the growing cast of Thank You for Your Service, which follows a trio of Iraq War soldiers as they struggle to adapt to civilian life back home in the U.S. Marking the directorial debut of American Sniper writer Jason Hall, the film also stars Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, and Keisha Castle-Hughes.  The film is based on the book by David Finkel.

It's unclear what Schumer's role will be, but this is an unexpected move for her no matter what. [Deadline]
