Greta Gerwig Adds Saoirse Ronan To Her Directorial Debut, 'Lady Bird'

Considering the filmmakers she's worked with in the past it was only a matter of time before Greta Gerwig set out on her own directorial path. Last summer she set in motion her debut feature, Lady Bird, and while details on it are still slim we know it will have an Oscar-nominated star.

Brooklyn's Saoirse Ronan, currently up for a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the film, has joined Gerwig's first-time behind the camera. Gerwig is penning the screenplay, and all we know is that it centers on a woman's final year in Sacramento.

Ronan will be busy as she'll be filming this while starring in Arthur Miller's Broadway production of The Crucible.
