While Straight Outta Compton may have been an unfortunate snub at the Oscars, its stars have all gone on to bigger and better things. Corey Hawkins has perhaps been the busiest of all, landing a recurring role on The Walking Dead and the upcoming blockbuster, Kong: Skull Island. But now he's landed a role that promises him more action than the cutthroat world of hip-hop, as he'll be taking the lead role in Fox's upcoming reboot series, 24: Legacy.
Confirmed to be the first 24 series not to star Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, this one will feature Hawkins as Eric Carter, an Army Ranger who joins with CTU to stop a terrorist threat on American soil. At this point it doesn't lok as if any of the previously seen agents will appear in the series, which will maintain the real-time format spread across 12 episodes, just like Fox's 24: Live Another Day.
At this point Fox has only ordered up a pilot, and will likely decide to move forward if fans are willing to accept a new hero coming to save the day.
