With Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard leading Justin Kurzel's adaptation of the hit video game, Assassin's Creed, there's the hope it will do the best-selling franchise justice. Or...well, it could be Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Let's certainly hope it's not the latter. After debuting the first official photos a couple of days ago, Empire now has more snaps of Fassbender in the role of Callum Lynch, a new character in the series, and his 15th century ancestor, Aguilar. Here's the official synopsis:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Also starring Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson, Assassin's Creed opens December 21st 2016.
