"Cowabunga!!" That's what Paramount and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes must have been shouting when last year's much-maligned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles nearly hit $500M in 2014. This despite mediocre reviews for the heroes on a half-shell, although I found the film to be somewhat charming and more faithful to the story than expected. And so they couldn't wait to get going on a sequel, this time directed by Earth to Echo's David Green. In fact their excitement is so high Paramount couldn't wait an extra day to unveil the full trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, mere hours after dropping a teaser.
Leaping onto the nostalgia train with both feet, the sequel sees the debut of popular TMNT foes Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Champion Sheamus), along with Arrow star Stephen Amell as masked vigilante, Casey Jones. Megan Fox and Will Arnett are back, joined by other new additions Tyler Perry as nerdy scientist Baxter Stockman, Brittany Ishibashi as Karai, Brian Tee as Shredder, and Laura Linney in an unspecified role.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opens June 3rd 2016.
