Sarah Wayne Callies may no longer be among the living on The Walking Dead, but she seems to have found a home in the realm of genre thrillers that appeal to the show's audience. Last year she ran from an unnaturally castclysmic natural disaster in Into the Storm, and now she's messing with the supernatural in The Other Side of the Door.
Co-written and directed by Johannes Roberts with Jeremy Sisto in a supporting role, the story centers on a mother who disrupts the balance between life and death when she tries to see her dead son one last time. Here's the official synopsis to go along with the new trailer and poster:
The film follows a family who are living an idyllic existence abroad. That is, until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother (Sarah Wayne Callies) learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.
The Other Side of the Door opens March 11th 2016.
