Martial Artist Scott Adkins Joins Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'

Martial arts and mysticism go hand-in-hand, just look at Marvel's Iron Fist series which combines both. And if there was an actor who might have made for a good Iron Fist for the Netflix series it would have been martial artist and actor Scott Adkins, but instead Marvel has booked him for a role in Doctor Strange.

Now, Adkins' role is being kept under wraps so perhaps there's still an outside shot he's Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, but it's highly doubtful. He's built up quite an acting career over the years, leading the Undisputed franchise and starring in The Expendables 2 and Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning. He's also got a role in Grimsby opposite Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong.

Adkins joins Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular Sorcer Supreme, plus Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Amy Landecker, and Michael Stuhlbarg. Scott Derrickson is directing Doctor Strange which opens on November 4th 2016. [TheWrap]
