Neither Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Suicide Squad has hit theaters yet, and already Warner Bros. is moving ahead on Wonder Woman with production now officially underway. As the first major female superhero film there are going to be a lot of eyes on this one, and now we have the first official look at Gal Gadot in the film plus details on the cast joining her.
The supporting cast has been revealed to be Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis. Missing from this list is Nicole Kidman who was rumored for a major role. Perhaps that part is now going to Wright, who is the only other big name actress in the film? And don't forget Chris Pine is on board as Wonder Woman's love interest, Steve Trevor. While the talent on this one doesn't measure up to the other DC films, it's more important that Wonder Woman is done the justice a character of her standing deserves. She's just as important as Superman and Batman, and it will be up to Warner Bros. to get that point across.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman opens June 23rd 2017.
