Big Names Missing from 'The Expendables 3' Confirmed Cast

There have been a great many names that have passed through Sylvester Stallone's wishlist for The Expendables 3, but for the most part it seemed that he snagged pretty much everyone he wanted. Or at least he reeled in the biggest fish of all, recently landing Harrison Ford at the expense of losing Bruce Willis. But others said to be in negotiations included Nicolas Cage, Milla Jojovich, Wesley Snipes, and Jackie Chan, an impressive line-up of genre stars to be sure. Now one of the film's producers has come out with a complete list of the cast, and there are a few we thought were confirmed who don't appear anywhere on it.

With production beginning in a week, producer Boaz Davidson released the list of stars for The Expendables 3 on his Facebook page...

Missing are Jojovich, Chan, Cage, and Mickey Rourke who was said to be returning after dropping out from the sequel. Perhaps they were never as close to signing as we thought, or maybe deals are still being worked out. Chan in particular has been talking about his desire to join the film since last year, so it would be odd for him not to be involved. Also not mentioned is newcomer Glen Powell, who has signed on for what is being described as a lead role as a "highly trained combat veteran who is also an expert hacker and drone pilot." Powell had a small role in The Dark Knight Rises, but it sounds like Stallone is giving him his biggest break.

Directed by Patrick Hughes, The Expendables 3 opens August 15th 2014.
