Two new 'Man of Steel' posters featuring Kal-El and General Zod

As predicted, yesterday's Jor-El poster for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel was just the first in a series of character posters, and today sees the release of two more. The images feature Michael Shannon in cuffs as the evil General Zod, and Henry Cavill as Superman himself. The Zod image calls back to some of the earlier photos we've seen of Supes in military custody, suggesting that neither Kryptonian is going to get the nicest treatment here on Earth.

Hopefully there will be more posters to come, preferably one of Antje Traue as Faora.  Man of Steel opens on June 14th, but if you absolutely need to see more, Warner Bros. has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette. Check it out below.

PLOT: In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
