New trailer for Zack Sndyer's 'Man of Steel'

Now that the viral marketing is over (for now) and General Zod is through making his threats, Warner Bros. has released the latest trailer for Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan's Man of Steel. A lot of it carries the same existential flavor as the previous ones, but there are brief moments of action and some new footage to be found.

The plot has largely been held under lock and key, but what we know is that the film will deal largely with Clark Kent seeking to find his place in a world that doesn't understand him. We see the destruction of Krypton and the sacrifice made by Jor-El (Russell Crowe), contrasted by the influence of Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner) who urges Clark to stay in the shadows. Michael Shannon is as menacing as ever as Zod, and we see a light touch of humor from Amy Adams. So Superman won't be dealing with Kryptonite this time around, but it looks like he has plenty of other issues to occupy his time.

Between the scope, the mood, and Hans Zimmer's powerful score, Man of Steel looks like the superhero film to beat this summer. We'll see if Superman is truly bulletproof when the film opens on June 14th.
