Peter Dinklage won't be CGI in 'X-men: Days of Future Past'

That Bryan Singer has been a busy fellow spilling the beans on X-men: Days of Future Past, and he's far from finished. The big question surrounding the film right now is the character portrayed by Game of Thrones star, Peter Dinklage. Initially thought to be playing Alpha Flight member, Puck, we soon learned he'd be a villain. Speculation turned to him possibly voicing a CGI baddie, but as it turns out that won't be the case.

Again speaking with IGN, Singer revealed some small details on Dinklage's character....

Singer: “He’s not going to be a CGI character,” Singer corrected. “He’ll be himself. Not that he’ll be playing Peter Dinklage, he’ll be playing this character. It’s not a shy character. He’s just such a phenomenal actor; I’m a huge fan of Peter’s and Game of Thrones. He was my first choice and I was really happy [about the casting]. It’s so funny to talk to him because he does that impeccable accent [on Game of Thrones] and then you talk to him and he’s this guy from New Jersey.”

So that doesn't tell us much, but we can narrow it down to him playing a human. I still figure he'll be a Trask, responsible for the mutant-hunting Sentinel robots that are a key part of the story. Singer says negotiations are underway with another actor, along with a number of younger characters that will be announced soon. Let the guessing game continue! X-men: Days of Future Past arrives on July 18th 2014.
