Samuel L. Jackson wants Mace Windu back for 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

We've heard from Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and recently Ewan McGregor about the possibility of returning for Star Wars: Episode VII, and for the most part they all seem to really want to be involved. But none of those people excite me all that much. Luke Skywalker? Been there, done that to death. Who wants to see an old, haggard Princess Leia? And Obi-Wan? Zzzzzzzzzz. But one actor we haven't heard from yet, who would certainly cause a few ripples in the fanboy Force if he returned is Samuel L. Jackson, and he sounds like he's more than up for it.

Jackson played Master Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy, sporting the awesome grape soda lightsaber and the same panache he brings as Nick Fury in The Avengers. There's just one problem....he got his ass tossed out a window and is presumed dead. Jackson talked to E! about bringing Windu back from the Jedi grave, and he's definitely interested....

Jackson: "I'm not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more Star Wars. It's like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I'm dead and we'll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that's still around that didn't actually die. I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don't care, I just want to stay associated with the franchise."

Obviously, Disney knows the value of adding someone like Jackson into the franchise mix, and there's a lot more money in selling Windu action figures if the character is alive and kicking. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if he comes back in some capacity. We didn't actually see him die, did we? No body, no death. Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to open in 2015.
