Martin Sheen will return as Uncle Ben in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' sequel

If you read that headline and said "Dear God, don't tell me he's coming back as a clone!!!", well then you're probably a diehard Spider-Man fan who has seen his fair share of bad clone stories. Alas, that's probably not what we'll be facing with the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, not even with Martin Sheen revealing he'll be coming back as Peter Parker's deceased Uncle Ben.

Sheen was on The Late Late Show where he broke the news, also revealing when filming is set to kick off....

Sheen: "Well they called me back, I don't know what the part's going to be but I'm going to be Uncle Ben once again in Spider-Man next year. We shoot in February."

It'll probably be little more than a flashback sequence, as Ben's death is the driving force behind Parker's costumed career. So add Sheen to the growing cast which includes Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Jamie Foxx, and Dane DeHaan. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Marc Webb and opens May 2nd 2014.
