1st look at a bloody Chloe Moretz in the 'Carrie' remake
There probably weren't a lot of people screaming for a remake of Brian De Palma's unforgettable horror classic, Carrie. In fact, the uproar was loud and clear. But Screen Gems ignored the naysayers, and set about making their version stand apart with Chloe Moretz as the titular bullied telekinetic, and Kimberly Peirce(Boys Don't Cry) behind the camera.
Anyone who has seen the 1976 adaptation of Stephen King's novel probably still has the image of Carrie in her bloody prom dress burned in their brains. Well now you can look at it in a whole new way as EW has the first two images from the remake, one featuring Moretz in a re-creation of that memorable moment. The other shot features the always great Julianne Moore as Carrie's mother, a religious fanatic who puts her daughter through an abusive baptism by fire.
Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie each received Oscar nominations for their performances in Carrie, so Moretz and Moore have some pretty big shoes to fill. Carrie opens next year on March 15th 2013.
