Jennifer Connelly in talks for Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah'; Saorise Ronan eyed for a role
It took awhile for Darren Aronofsky to get Noah, his ambition Biblical passion project, off the ground but it seems to be rounding into shape quite nicely now. Budget concerns slowed it down initially, along with losing Christian Bale and Michael Fassbender who were both set at one time to play the guy with the boat and the animals and stuff. With Russell Crowe in place to star now, and a newly earned March 2014 release date, Aronofsky is looking to a familiar face to help fill out the cast.
The Tracking Board states that Jennifer Connelly is in talks to star as Noah's wife, Naameh. Connelly worked with Aronofsky in 2001's Requiem for a Dream, and alongside Crowe in A Beautiful Mind. The Film Stage also says that Saoirse Ronan is being looked at for a possible supporting role. Filming is set to begin this summer, likely in July.
It's been way too long since Connelly has had a decent role to bite into, maybe even as far back as Little Children? I don't know what the extent of the Naameh part will be, but if the film focuses mostly on Noah's home life and even his alleged drinking problem(some say he was the world's first wine drinker), then it could be significant.
